Welcome to the  website of Jan Rowland, a painter at CityLine Studios and a Curator at Friendship Heights Village Center! As I begin 2025 my vision is to work on the ideas that I have had for many years. My greatest inspiration for paintings are the reflections that I see in windows or water or on any shiny surface. The many different perspectives and superimposed images always intrigue me. For me art is not real life and actual representation of photos but more  an inner need to be creative. Art is manufactured emotion that gives a moment of lucidity to creative people. Its a world of dreams and emotions put down onto a canvas. We need to be honest in our work and to search for a deeper vision.
